Updates

Paper submission deadline was extended to 15th of March 2017!

Details

The conference will constitute a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest results in the field of wired/wireless networks and will aim at providing research directions and fostering collaborations among the participants. In this context, the program committee will accept a limited number of papers that meet the criteria of originality, presentation quality and topic relevance. IFIP WWIC is a single-track conference which has reached, over the last 14 years, a high quality level, which is reflected by the paper acceptance rate as well as the level of attendance. Following the conference tradition, there will be a best paper award. Selected presentations will be broadcasted live in the Internet.

Short call for papers

Internet is being extended beyond its traditional boundaries through gradually incorporating a wide-range of challenging networks and autonomous devices. From traditional wireless networks to opportunistic networks of mobile devices in urban environments and deep-space communications, the new approaches require an efficient merging with the traditional wired infrastructure. The need for more efficient protocols, clean-slate or evolutionary architectures, merging and assembling of different network technologies, unified operation and management of the heterogeneous components and the support for new cloud services are only few examples of the wide range of technologies building-up this new global network. IFIP WWIC addresses research topics such as the design and evaluation of protocols, the dynamics of the integration, the performance tradeoffs, the need for new performance metrics, and cross-layer interactions. This year, we further solicit submissions on mobile clouds and mobile edge computing (MEC), and applications of NFV and SDN to wireless and mobile networks.

Paper submission

The maximum size of papers should be 12 pages including tables and figures. The cover page must contain an abstract of at least 70 and at most 150 words, 3-5 keywords, name and affiliation of author(s) as well as the corresponding author's e-mail and postal address. In your submission, please adhere to the formatting standard for a 12-page manuscript of Springer International Publishing. There you will find templates for preparing the submission using either LaTeX (recommended) or Microsoft Word. Notice that in the submission phase we only accept a PDF document produced from the properly formatted original editable document.

To submit your paper for review, you should have an EDAS account and visit this link.

Camera-Ready Paper Submission Instructions

The deadline for the camera-ready paper submissions is on the 20th of April, 2017. The camera-ready paper should not exceed the 12 pages formatted according to the guidelines given at the Springer Information for LNCS Authors webpage. Up to two extra pages are allowed, but an additional charging will be applied (i.e., 75€ per extra page).

The camera-ready paper submission includes the following:

The completed copyright form would be provided after the acceptance. The volume editors will check the contributions, decide their appearance order in the printed volume and send the complete material on to Springer. Once the source files have been worked on, then Springer will send the final pdf files to the corresponding authors, asking them to check their papers. This usually happens in April, hence we encourage corresponding authors of accepted papers to verify that emails with attachments are not directly filtered out. Please name your file as ZZZ.YYY, where ZZZ stands for paper's first author surname and YYY stands for zip, tar or other archive extension. The final camera-ready paper must be sent by email to: wwic2017-chairs@edas.info.

Registration

A registration is required for all WWIC 2017 participants. It is mandatory for the authors of accepted papers to: (i) register for the conference at the full rate, and (ii) present the paper at the conference. The full author registration deadline is on the 20th of April, 2017. For authors with multiple accepted papers, a reduced fee for each additional paper is requested.
Early registration is until April 20, 2017. Fee includes: participation in the conference, Welcome reception and social event, all lunches and coffee breaks, one copy of the conference proceedings.
